Scottish club Celtic have announced that they have signed a record-breaking kit with New Balance commencing from the 2015-16 season onwards.
Currently signed with Nike who first supplied Celtic’s kits in 2005, the new five year deal is worth up to £29m so roughly £5.8m a year for the club.
General Manager at New Balance Richard Wright said, “We are so excited to be working with Celtic Football Club. The famous green and white hoops are an iconic symbol in football and we can’t wait to collaborate with the club on future ranges of apparel.”
Wright added, “This deal with Celtic will enable New Balance to become synonymous with all that’s great about the Scottish game. We’re dedicated to producing innovative products that the players and fans can wear on the way to creating more cherished memories for this great club.”
New Balance (Warrior Sports) have recently picked up several big name teams throughout Europe including English clubs Stoke City and Liverpool and Sevilla and FC Porto in Spain and Portugal.
