Having already released their Home and Away kits for the new season, Manchester United have now officially launched the new “third” kit.
With the home and away shirts using the Tiro 15 Jersey template, the all new third shirt uses a version of the Campeon 15 Jersey template which introduces a mesh theme on the collar, sleeve cuffs and hem. The likes of Sunderland, Swansea City, Southampton and West Brom have used the same kit template for the 2015-16 season. The new third shirt is black and has a special print pattern on the chest inspired by the 1990-92 adidas away shirt.
The tonal graphic print design seen on the 1990-92 away shirt was one of the worst ever kits the club used and was one of the reasons the club ditched adidas for Umbro in 1992. Apart from the tonal graphic print solid black panels are used with adidas’ signature three-stripes on the shoulders coloured red as well as the sleeve cuffs.
A standard rounded crew-neck collar is coloured black while the Manchester United crest is monochromed to match the trim colour of the shirt which is red. The shorts of the new third kit again uses the graphic print seen on the shirt but with an added white and black gradient effect. adidas’ three stripes run down the flanks of the shorts while the socks are coloured black with red trim.
